Dematic's Project Engineering team has a need for a Senior Resale Engineer within the Amazon business unit!

Dematic purchases and integrates mechanical and controls equipment and components from other vendors to satisfy specific system needs. This type of equipment is referred to as resale.

This engineer will be responsible for technically validating resale/third-party equipment options, mitigating project risk related to resale equipment and keeping Dematic's offerings cost competitive yet cutting edge. This engineer would partner closely with the Dematic procurement team, principal engineering teams, project teams and resale vendors. Travel will be minimal (10%-20%), only visiting when onsite validation is required.

  The base pay range for this role is estimated to be $100,500 - $ 147,400 at the time of posting. Final compensation will be determined by various factors such as work location, education, experience, knowledge, and skills.
  
  Tasks and Qualifications:
  
  What You Will do in This Role:
  
  • Technically validate mechanical and controls resale opportunities identified by Dematic procurement teams.
  • Travel to Vendor sites to investigate and test vendor equipment, if deemed necessary.
  • Work with Dematic project teams to get resale equipment on site for testing in-house, if deemed necessary
  • Work with Dematic R&D when opportunities for new in-house products are an option to replace resale equipment.
  • Support investigation of new resale equipment needs identified within customer specifications or requests.
  • Ensure accurate resale related technical risk is identified for all projects in the business unit.
  • Ensure resale related risks have short-term and long-term mitigation plans.
  • Research new technology in key areas to drive competitiveness in cost or specification compliance.
  • Research new technology in key areas to reduce single-sourced resale situations.
  • Support pre-contract teams during cost-reviews
  • Support post-contract teams during engineering design phase
  • Create documentation to spread knowledge on specific pieces of resale equipment, with the intent of mitigating project risk and setting project team partners up for success.
    
    What We Are Looking For:
    
    • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, or Mechatronics).
    • Prior experience dealing with third-party vendors, preferably in the material handling field
    • 5+ years of experience in engineering, preferably in the material handling field
    • Exceptional customer focus and ability to deliver results.
    • Demonstrated problem solver with excellent communication skills.
    • Ability to navigate, influence and operate in a strongly matrixed global organization.
    • Experience with Excel, SmartSheet and modeling Software (CAD, NX) a plus
    • Ability to prioritize and evaluate solutions with a data driven approach
