  • The Registered Nurse provides direct care to patients using the nursing process.
  • Ongoing assessment of the total patient.
  • Provides interventions to treat presenting symptoms and evaluates the effect of nursing interventions and patient's responses.
  • Functions as a team leader/member and resource to others.
  • Delegates, oversees and provides direction to support staff.
  • Collaborates with interdisciplinary team to establish goals and outcomes for each patient.
  • Responsible for meeting the needs of all types of patients.
    • Job Requirements
    • 2+ years of experience - Required
    • Neuro PCU Experience - Required
    • Work History
    • Skills Checklist, current to 1 year, pertinent to the specialty
    • 2 Supervisory Reference Forms, taken within the last two years
    • Candidates' Permanent Address (Facility will consider local candidates - 50-mile radius restriction for one 13-week contract)

        • Unit Specific Information
        • Regularly assesses patient's needs and provides skilled nursing services as prescribed by the physician authorized plan of care and accepted standards of evidence based nursing practice.
        • Provides direct patient care including medication administration, treatments, education, call lights, assisting with transfers, responding to alarms, and other duties as appropriate.
        • Evaluates effectiveness of treatment plan and makes suggestions or participates in updating/revising the treatment plan in collaboration with other team members, utilizing current information to improve patient care.
        • Knowledgeable and compliant with all local, state and federal regulations and guidelines as well as hospital specific policies and procedures relating to care provided in the medical center.

          • Recent traveler experience - highly preferred
          • Patient Ratio: 1:4/5 (Target) to 1:6
